Pearl, the meeting starts at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 20 in the basement of the Plaza del Sol at 600 Second St. Northwest in Albuquerque, north of downtown a few blocks. El Vado is sixth on the agenda of 12 items, so the Planning Commission should get to it before the morning is over, with luck.

Spaniards getting executed by the French near Madrid's central square :

If you lighten the picture up you will see the Plaza del Sol buildings in the background, the uniforms of the French clearly figured out.

If you click on that thumbnail you'll see the larger version just as black.

This Velazquez painting is famous for its perspective. They say that in this painting he captured even the air, the depth of the room. If you lighten it up you will see the pictures on the back wall of the room and the lamps hanging from the ceiling. Some think that it is the Western world's greatest painting because of its atmosphere. I do not understand this kind of thing at all. I do not believe that you can make either sense or money (or both) of this world without conflict, and so I love Goya.

    The news about the boycott:
So you believe that all is a struggle? You don't understand what? I would agree that the painting is as uninteresting as a snapshot of a current day wealthy family lounging in their rooms before or after some outing. He captured the air all right. The air of privileged dullness. But what's not to understand? I guess you prefer the drama of the firing squad?

Staybridge Suites is found in the neighborhood of the Expo Area and is close to many tourtisty sites like the Monumento a los Ninos Heroes, Museo Clemente Orozco and the Centro de la Amistad Internacional. It’s a fairly new hotel, thus the facilities are still of top quality. Nevertheless, the hotel is housed with capable staff who keep it well-maintained. They provide friendly and efficient service, as well. The rooms are huge and spacious with a fully functioning kitchen, with silver ware and cooking pots as well as kitchen appliances. Even the bed is spacious, as it is a king sized bed. The accommodation is classified as 3-stars, but everything you need is enough to make your stay really comfortable. The in-house restaurant offers decent breakfast choices, and there are complimentary drinks or snacks. However, if you really want to experience authentic Mexican dining, you have to eat somewhere else. But that is no problem since Staybridge is located near Plaza Del Sol, which is one…
